Decompression Therapy

Decompression Therapy at Central Medical Center

The 3D Active Trac Decompression unit consists of an adjustable treatment table equipped with a traction force generator. Spinal decompression therapy, or non-surgical disc repair, is designed to exert a therapeutic distraction force on the patient's spine to relieve pressures on structures causing pain.

It produces the forces and positions required to cause decompression of the intervertebral discs — unloading due to distraction and positioning. Spinal decompression also stretches ligaments and tendons to increase range of motion and flexibility.

Patients usually report a dramatic reduction in pain after only a few treatments. To speed recovery, we may also incorporate spinal stabilization exercises and core strengthening.
